As you may already be aware, the decadent Art Deco style of the 20s and 30s is the new retro look, and one we expect to see more of in 2013. This old school ring from about 1930 features an approximately one carat round diamond surrounded by a halo of emerald cut emeralds, and diamonds on the band of the ring. This is truly a fantastic option for those of you looking to design a custom engagement ring. Classy, unique, and spectacular all at the same time.
Even in the dead of winter, emeralds can make you feel like spring is just around the corner. This verdant, earthy gemstone has become the red carpet's favorite bauble of late, sparking color authority Pantone to declare Emerald Green the official color of 2013. Emeralds are associated with balance, harmony, growth, and prosperity -- all attributes the world could use in abundance this new year. And for many cultures, emeralds symbolize beauty and healing. The color green is the most abundant hue in nature; humans see more green than any other color in the spectrum, according to Pantone's Leatrice Eiseman. It is also May's birthstone and the patriotic color of Irish pride for the "Emerald Isle."

What amazing gardens at Cuneo! The colors are so rich looking-
Her bouquet is amazing. Truly one designed for a "princess"
...And we had to add this close up of her cake that is just stuffed with florals and the detailing on the cake is so pretty, making it one of a kind.

Feature article in the Buffalo Grove Countryside Newspaper
I came across the article with a feature on our very own Jill Tegtmeyer at the Kildeer school district 96 Evening of Florals from November 2012.
It was a fun event that raised monies for their program Aims to help children in need. Their first but definitely a great turnout, and an event sure to grow in numbers as the years to come.

Handwritten Notes of THANKS...
The ART of letter writing is some what EXTINCT.
I know I have said this before BUT, after spending considerable time with clients, planning and creating their floral dream and details for their wedding....there is nothing like getting a handwritten note of thanks! We all stand around and read them...looking to see if our names are mentioned (yes, we all have a competitive nature) and just reliving that wedding and its special moments.
So here are just a few that we want to say "thank you" for sending us!
So keep them coming, we really DO appreciate getting them and the time you took to write them!

Kudos! We are blushing....
Some Yelp Reviews... thank you to our clients!
Daniel is AMAZING!!! He totally got my vision and went above and beyond!!! The flowers were GORGEOUS! Thank you for making my day so special....
Our wedding was magnificent thanks to this fantastic florist! Jill was spot-on with the design of our Chuppah to the gorgeous candle centerpieces...not to mention the beautiful lily I held and the bouquet my daughter held. They are absolutely amazing and it was due to their professionalism and their creativity!!! I would give them 10 stars!
Jill did my wedding, and it was breathtaking! Guests complimented me on the "heavy ambiance" and super romantic vibe that she created. I gave Jill some ideas and preferences, and she really went WAY above and beyond what I ever could have imagined. She used a lot of moss, succulents, willow branches, and candles... It was honestly the most beautiful wedding I've ever seen! I can't believe what she was able to do, and she was super mindful of my budget, and instead of just omitting things, she suggested less expensive ways to create the same look. I really can't recommend Joseph's enough. The other nice thing was that Jill was really familiar with my church and venue, and she knew exactly what it would take to make them look perfect. I will update with pictures when I get them!
Daniel did our wedding. Everything was perfect. The flowers were everything we had asked for and more. I would highly recommend Joseph's to anyone looking for an amazing florist with real talent. Thank you Daniel for making our wedding absolutely stunning!

"Q" Gives back...
Quincy and his family decided to have a packing party with their guests and
"Give Back"
Here is what the sign said:
Help us pack for the Ark's Hanukkah Wish List
The ARK Sarnoff Levin Residence - JUF/JF Patnership
A Jewish transitional housing for homeless families in Chicago
The Hanukkah wish list for the shelter include: blankets, pillows, sheets, towels and sundry bags filled with toiletries.
These items are being donated by Quincy and his family so Jewish families in a time of need can stay in a safe and clean environment, enabling them to get back on their feet.
The primary goals of the residence are to stabilize clients' situations, minimize the trauma of homelessness, and ease the transition into permanent or second-stage housing as efficiently and effectively as possible
With bright, clean rooms, nutritious meals and holiday celebrations, the residence serves as a "home away from home" - a source of shelter, support and the warmth of our caring Jewish community.
This boy will go far in life with a heart like that-

"Q" = Team Quincy
December 8, 2012
The 8th had our mitzvah team at WhirlyBall Chicago for the big "Q" Hirt event.
Christy and her team ran with the sports and games theme for "Q" creating tablescapes that were a hit!
Table tops were created with all the major sports teams. Constructed from a durable foam core, and decorated with team graphics to add that splash to the furniture.
